CLIL seminar
Sofia, November 2003
In January 2003, Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridsky and Znanie Association in the same city joined as partners in the TL2L-project.
A successful product of the new cooperation was a CLIL seminar, held in Sofia between 24 and 28 November 2003. In CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), teachers and learners of content subjects (e.g. geography, art and design) use a foreign or second language as the medium of communication and instruction. CLIL is widely seen as an excellent means of learning a language, and of introducing international aspects into the teaching of content subjects.
Target groups of the seminar in Sofia were teachers at bilingual schools in Bulgaria. The seminar aimed to provide these teachers with additional information on CLIL and language learning theory. Lecturers from Sofia, Amsterdam and Stockholm provided the seminar workshops.
